About

ABOUT ME

On Tuesday, June 1, 1954 a female and 7th child of eventually 16 siblings was born to Cleveland Sr. a Coal-Miner and Earline Boles, a GOD fearing Woman, Seamstress and Farmer at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She saw early on in her youth, that working came before an education. She learned how to Clean, Cook, Care-Give and Labor on the Family Farm at an early age. Growing up side-by-side with her older sister Betty, the two did everything together.  One sunny day while they were hanging clothes out on the clothesline, she stopped and looked up at an airplane flying over and uttered “I’m going to Hollywood and getting out of here!” Well to the West Coast she came, as a 13 year old teen in 1967. Brought to Reno, Nevada by her mother’s younger sister, her Aunt Mary Phillip-Johnson and Uncle Jerry along with her sister Betty, it was from that journey when she realized that the hard work and laboring she executed in Alabama would transfer into trades that carried her through life until retirement.

As she went through many life changes and living arrangements from friends, family and to foster homes, she became pregnant at 16 which landed into her own government assisted residence with her firstborn daughter Belinda Denise, in 1971.  She married in 1973, then gave birth to her second child, a son whom she named Courtney Lamar, in 1974. She continued working and learning to be a Woman, Mother, Wife, Homeowner and Full-Time Employee until the marriage came to an end. This is when she divorced, sold the house, packed herself and children up and headed closer to Hollywood aka Las Vegas, Nevada. She and her children arrived in the Summer of 1979 and then she secured a government job by October 1979.  She returned back to school furthering her education.

She remarried in 1981 and moved into a new home, continued to work Full-Time, Established & Founded Social groups and Organizations, Catered years of special events, Decorated and Remodeled her home yearly & sometimes daily. She learned to be a Craftsman, Carpenter, Electrician, Counselor, Social Worker, Warden, Corrections Officer, Chef, OSHA Agent, Mediator and the best a GOD fearing Woman. She spent most of her life laboring for others. She raised her two children and still guides her Grand-Children and Great- Grandchildren to this day. She has put up countless amounts of her own earnings to fund all of her projects with her monetary seed coming first, followed by private donations, second. In 1992 she met Lee Pence and years later they married while bringing Life to her dreams together.

She eventually retired from the Department of Energy aka EG&G after serving 37 Faithful years in government with a completion date of September 2016. She has truly been a pillar in her Community, is well-known and respected amongst her peers. She has devoted the latter part of her Life to an organization named “Lady Di Talks to Youth and Parents”. She also formed a “Let’s Talk” Support Group for Care-Givers & others, which meets for 2-hours every Wednesday at her West Las Vegas residence, lastly she is a Full-Time Caregiver for her husband.  She has lived in North Las Vegas since 1979 and can be found in Valley View Estates on the Westside or in Vegas Heights @ her Youth Center Lady Di Talks To Youth & Parents.
